Woman Sentenced to 15 Years for Shooting Over $30 Beer, DeKalb DA Reveals
The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office said that the woman who shot a man over a $30 beer buy will spend 15 years in prison.
A jury decided on Thursday that Bianca Echols, who is 34 years old, was guilty of aggravated assault and having a gun while committing a theft. The crimes happened on February 25, 2021, at the Aspen Woods Apartments on Flat Shoals Road in unincorporated Decatur.
Investigators say that the person involved was Michael Wilder, who is now 41 years old and was at a friend’s house. Wilder didn’t know Echols, but she showed up with beer and ordered that Wilder pay her $30 for it. Officials say that Wilder declined.
Officials say Echols saw Wilder while she was waiting for a taxi service, pulled up next to him in her car, and shot him several times as he tried to leave.

When the cops got there, they saw Wilder lying on his back with gunshot wounds. Police said they found four.40 caliber gun casings close to his body.
Wilder was hurt and was taken to Atlanta Medical Center to get better. When police interviewed Wilder at the hospital, he named Echols as the person who shot him and gave them her social media account.
