The body of a woman was found on the side of Hunt Club Road near Wadsworth on Wednesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
In Old Mill Creek, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office went to Hunt Club Road south of Route 173 around 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
A caller to 911 said they thought they saw a body on the side of the road, according to Christopher Covelli, Deputy Chief of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The body of a dead woman was found on the east shoulder of Hunt Club Road by the sheriff’s officers. During the original investigation, Covelli said it looked like the woman had been killed.
At some point in the early morning, the woman’s body was dumped on the side of the road. An investigation is going to be done by the Lake County Coroner’s Office, which was called to the scene.

Covelli said that officials don’t know what caused the death or how it happened yet. Up until late Wednesday morning, Hunt Club Road from Route 173 to Wadsworth Road was still closed.
There was someone driving south on Hunt Club Road toward Wadsworth Road who told the Lake and McHenry County Scanner that they saw the accident while they were driving by.
Along the road, the woman said she saw the body in a black bag. As more information comes in, Covelli said that Lake County sheriff’s officers will be releasing it.
