Hollie Strano, a weather presenter at WKYC TV, got in trouble on Thanksgiving. She crashed her car on Akron-Peninsula Road and got arrested for an OVI. She’s going to court on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Cuyahoga Falls Mayor’s Court.
The police got a call about someone driving weirdly around 7:30 p.m. They found Hollie driving a Cadillac XT5 SUV that was all over the road. The officer followed her, and she was speeding at 70 mph in a 35 mph zone towards Akron.
The police released a video showing the officer following her. In the video, her car goes across the middle line and then drifts to the other side before hitting a utility pole on the right side of the road.
This Thanksgiving weekend Towpath is especially grateful for the City of Akron. 🙌 Last night a vehicle took out a fire hydrant that caused rushing water and mud to fill most of parking lot. Today we are hosting our 43rd annual Thanksgiving Tournament. We are so thankful we have water, power and tennis matches being played today. Thank you to all of our players and parents for your understanding and patience as we cleaned up the mess. The city’s help was such a blessing today. Thank you!!! 🦃🎾❤️
The cops say Hollie had a blood alcohol level of 0.244%, which is more than three times the legal limit of 0.08%.
