Who was Anne Heche?

Actress Anne Celeste Heche entered the world on May 25, 1969, in Aurora, Ohio. Anne was raised by her parents, Nancy and Donald, and her elder brothers and sister, Nathan, Abigail, and Susan.

Two months before Anne’s birth, Anne’s sister Cynthia died of a congenital heart problem.

About a dozen moves occurred throughout her formative years. In an interview with Larry King from 2001, Heche said that her father was a choir director and that, “I doubt he brought in much money that week.

He claimed to have nothing to do with the oil and gas industry. That was his last statement before he passed away. When he said it, he was speaking for the final time. But he was never an oil or gas worker.

Anne and her brothers all shared a bedroom at the home of a church member when their family eventually settled in New Jersey when she was 12 years old.

Heche was able to move her family because of the money she saved by working at a dinner theatre in Swainton.

Family tragedies and parental abuse

Anne’s dad passed away in March of 1983 from AIDS at the young age of 45. Heche claims her father raped her from the time she was an infant until she was 12 years old, infecting her with genital herpes.

Three months after Donald’s death, Anne’s brother Nathan, age 18, was murdered when he allegedly slept off while driving and slammed into a tree.

When Heche was young, his family relocated to Chicago, where he enrolled at Francis W. Parker School. At the age of 16, Anne tried out for a role in the daytime drama As the World Turns after an agent saw her in a school production.

Heche’s mother disapproved of her taking the position before she finished high school. She was given the parts of Vicky Hudson and Marley Love in “Another World” just before she graduated in 1987.

Her relationships, from Steve Martin to Ellen Degeneres

When she was working on a documentary on DeGeneres, she met cinematographer Coleman “Coley” Laffoon, and the two were later married on September 1, 2001.

On March 2, 2002, Heche and Laffoon became parents to their son, Homer. They later divorced in March of 2009.

Anne’s publicist announced in December 2008 that Heche and her “Men in Trees” co-star James Tupper were expecting a child, and on March 7, 2009, the couple had a boy named Atlas. In 2018, Anne and James ended their marriage.

Heche has received several nominations and awards for her work. She received two Daytime Emmy nods for Another World and won Best Young Actress in a Drama Series in 1991, and she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2004 for her role in the miniseries Gracie’s Choice.
