What You Need to Know About Aldi’s Huge Store Expansion

Are you tired of cool food items (and affordable) you see in Instagram and then finding out the grocery chain doesn’t offer them? If so, you’re not alone.

Nonetheless, there might not be much time left for some lucky shoppers if any of that food are from Aldi, Mashed speculated.

As per a press release, the discount grocery chain plans big things.

By the end of 2022, the company plans to open 150 new stores.

Another convenience of the chain is now available to shoppers who had been missing out.

In a press release, Aldi said they plan to include Curbside Grocery Pickup this year to 300 of their stores that do not already offer the service.

Providing curbside pickups is a key move for retailers, according to the New York Times, especially given that it boosts the viability of brick-and-mortar stores at a time when online shopping is on the rise.

The Southeast is Seeing Aldi’s Expansion

Aldi will open its first store in Louisiana this month, according to a press release the company issued. Louisiana is Aldi’s 38th state to open a store.

The discount chain is also planning to open two new stores on the Gulf Coast in 2022, along with 20 additional stores in the region.

The company will have a lot of shelves to stock. Aldi will soon be opening a regional distribution center in Alabama to support the added stores. Additionally, the region will gain 500 jobs as a result of this ramped-up operation, in addition to the bargain prices on groceries.

Newcomers to Aldi U.S. will enjoy what the store has to offer, according to CEO Jason Hart.

“There is nothing like watching shoppers discover ALDI for the first time … There’s a moment of surprise when they realize just how much they can save by shopping with us,” the company’s press release reads.

There is no doubt that the chain has some loyal customers, and FoodSided even listed reasons for its status as the “super fun grocery store,” including low prices, availability of gluten-free products, and abundance of seasonal goods.
