California residents who have qualified for the Golden State Stimulus check have reached out to ABC10 complaining that they haven’t received it yet.
Golden State Stimulus I and Golden State Stimulus II were available to California residents who filed their tax returns by Oct. 15, 2021, according to the State of California Franchise Tax Board (CFTB).
California residents who failed to file their taxes by the deadline may not have received Golden State Stimulus checks.
Payment delays may result from a pending Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). In the event that an individual applies for an ITIN by Oct. 15, 2021, but does not receive it by that date, then they have until Feb. 15, 2022, to file their tax return. The CFTB will then determine if the individual qualifies for the Golden State Stimulus after they have filed their taxes.
“Some payments may need more review depending on the situation or information we have. This could delay some payments. This could include address changes, bank account changes, etc.,” according to the CFTB website.

The CFTB recommends that qualified applicants allow 45 days beyond the estimated mailing timeline to allow for processing.

- 928-999: Dec. 27, 2021- Jan. 11, 2022
