The man accused of killing another man near Wells Branch has been arrested, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
An affidavit identified 32-year-old George Nickerius Nolden, from Waco, as the suspect in Sunday night’s deadly shooting along Wells Branch Parkway near I-35.
Nolden reportedly waved down a sheriff’s office deputy as he was standing next to a red Nissan Sentra that was obstructing traffic lanes. Nolden approached the deputy and requested to be placed in handcuffs and taken into custody.
According to the affidavit, Nolden told the deputy that he had shot someone who was in the back seat of the Nissan after the deputy saw blood on Nolden’s clothing.
Deputies discovered Nahiean Wright slumped over in the rear seat, suffering from several gunshot wounds and not responding. After being admitted to St. David’s Round Rock Hospital, Wright passed away.
