Violence Across the City- According to CPD,16 Shot 4 Fatally in the Shootings that Happened in Chicago

At least 16 individuals were shot over the weekend in Chicago, with four of them dying as a result of the violence, according to authorities.

The shocking Saturday

On Saturday, two people, a man and a woman were shot inside a Chinese takeout business on the 600 block of East 79th Street on Chicago’s South Side. According to the police, an unidentified gunman entered the restaurant and opened fire, killing an 18-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman.

An 18-year-old male was shot in the lower back and sent to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is currently in good health. Another woman, aged 24, was struck in the back and managed to drive herself to the nearest hospital. She is considered to be in fair shape. Area 2 police detectives have only begun investigating the attack, and thus far, no suspects have been detained.

In an early shooting Saturday, two individuals were slain in Auburn Gresham on Chicago’s South Side. Chicago police reported that at 12:55 a.m., they located two individuals, ages unknown, in the 800 block of West 87th Street.

City had a violent friday in the last week

A man was shot twice in the chest and later pronounced dead at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Oak Lawn. A police report states that the other victim was shot in the head and transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died. At the scene, police discovered a firearm lying next to him.

According to the news, no one was taken into custody. Local law enforcement has been called in. About an hour after the double homicide, a third guy was shot and murdered in suburban Oak Lawn; authorities suspect his death was related to the first two.

Two persons were killed and another badly wounded in a drive-by shooting in Austin on the West Side. A male in his 20s and a woman, 29, were heading south in the 200-block of South Cicero Avenue at about 11:15 p.m.

On Friday, a person opened fire from a beige SUV that pulled up next to them, according to Chicago police. A man was shot in the head, armpit, and thigh. Authorities said he was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died. Another motorist, a 36-year-old guy, slammed his vehicle into another automobile, police said.

A gunshot wound to the back was discovered, and he was rushed to the same hospital, where he later passed away. The woman received gunshot wounds to the head, arm, and back. She was taken by ambulance to Stroger Hospital in a life-threatening state. No one was in custody.

Last weekend, there was gun violence around the city that resulted in 31 shootings, including six fatalities.
