HBO Max is an American video-on-demand streaming service owned by AT&T through WarnerMedia Direct, a WarnerMedia subsidiary, launched on May 27, 2020. HBO serves as a content hub for WarnerMedia’s diverse television and film community, based on content from the TV service. Premium under the same name, but mainly with various original programs and contents of the company’s library, is licensed from third parties.

Like today’s streaming platforms HBO, HBO Go, and HBO Now (not Apple TV or Amazon Video channel platforms), HBO Max does not include a channel. Cinemax is not expected to have any content (including the original show) on the HBO linear cable network as WarnerMedia is channeling its investment in it.
