U.S Taxpayers Due for IRS Plus-up Payment. When Will You Get It?

Plus-up stimulus checks worth up to $1,400 are due to be paid to some Americans who meet the requirements including registering before the end of December 31, 2020.

Persons paying taxes in the United States who made less income in 2020 compared to 2019 are qualified to receive the plus-up payment.

Other eligible people are persons who claim to have elderly or disabled dependents when they filed their 2020 taxes. People who have disabled relatives or college students under their care are also qualified for the benefit.

The tax return for the year 2020 will have to be filed in order to be eligible for the payment before December 31.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) processes the plus-up payment and determines eligibility by checking the difference in tax returns in 2019 and 2020.

Already, about 500,000 plus-up payments have been made through direct deposit, with the rest being sent out via checks.
