Two would-be Robbers in Chicago were Shot by a Concealed Carry Holder

This morning in Chicago, a 56-year-old concealed carry permit holder shot two teenagers who had pointed a gun at him and “demanded his possessions,” according to police.

Chicago Police told that the incident occurred around 6 a.m. on the city’s west side and involved a vehicle with “three individuals inside” approaching the victim, who was sitting in his car. Upon exiting the vehicle, “one of the individuals brandished a handgun at the victim and demanded his belongings,” as reported by the police.

After “a fight occurred,” the victim, who police say was a concealed carry license holder, “withdrew his handgun and fired several shots,” according to the report. The Chicago Police Department says, “The offending car then attempted to flee but collided nearby.”

The investigation is still in progress

Investigators say they found one male suspect several blocks away with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The driver of the suspect’s vehicle was found nearby with a headshot wound and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The suspect was in critical condition and sent to the hospital. The third male involved “was in the backseat of the offending car and got a broken leg in the crash and was transferred to an area hospital in fair condition,” police said.

The victim of the alleged robbery attempt was not hurt, and police said all suspects were juveniles who remained unidentified and were between the ages of 15 and 18.
