Edgar Guzman-Tenangueno and Jose-Mendoza-Menjivar died in a wrong-way crash on Blanco Road at Hitchcock Road on Halloween night.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the fatal two-car collision occurred on Tuesday just before midnight.
Edgar Guzman-Tenangueno, 30, was traveling the incorrect way in the westbound lane of his 2001 Chrysler Sebring for an unidentified reason. The eastbound Chrysler then collided head-on with a westbound 2021 Honda Civic.
Paramedics arrived moments later to treat the injured. Nevertheless, they discovered that the Honda driver, Jose Mendoza-Menjivar, 21, and Edgar Guzman-Tenangueno, 21, had suffered mortal injuries.

Jessica Velasco, a 21-year-old Salinas resident who was riding in the Honda, was treated for moderate injuries at Natividad Medical Center after surviving the collision.
Authorities are currently unsure if alcohol was a factor in the collision, which caused Blanco Road to be closed in both directions for three hours. They will, however, investigate the specifics more.
