Following a shooting outside the 53 Mini Mart & Tobacco store in Onslow County, two persons are dead, and one is injured; both guys are being transported to the hospital. On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at approximately 5:19 p.m., it occurred.
The shop is located at 3458 Burgaw Highway (58), which is situated between Ernest Gurganus Road and Blue Creek Road. Numerous deputies from the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the site and are already collecting evidence and taking pictures.
When deputies arrived, they stated they discovered the three victims in the parking lot. According to Onslow County Sheriff Chris Thomas, two of the victims had already passed away, and the third was sent to the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, where it is unclear how they are doing.
“We have some witnesses we’re talking to now and it appears to be an incident isolated to just these individuals here but it’s early in the investigation and we should know more a bit later this evening,” Sheriff Thomas stated.

For about three hours, firefighters closed up a mile of Highway 53 and advised motorists to detour around the area. The victims’ names and ages won’t be made public until their relatives have been informed.
According to Sheriff Thomas, the minimart has nothing to do with the incident. One of the suspects has already been identified, he claimed. What happened before the incident is still unknown.
