The second part of the weekend in the East will be rained out by a tropical storm now brewing in the Atlantic Ocean.
According to the National Weather Service, the system is expected to reach the area on Sunday, October 23.

It will bring the possibility of heavy rainfall and destructive winds on Sunday night and Monday morning.

AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dean DeVore says, “if the storm follows the coast, it will pour rain on the Philadelphia region on Sunday morning, and on New York City and Boston by Sunday afternoon.”

If the storm does really reach its full capacity, however, it may cause widespread urban flooding along the Interstate 95 corridor in the Northeast on Sunday and Monday. It may also lead to powerful winds that cause coastal flooding.
Dry weather will prevail on Friday, October 21, and Saturday, October 22, with highs in the 60s ahead of the oncoming storm.
The path and intensity of the storm are unknown at this time.
