A four-vehicle collision on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg on Wednesday night claimed the lives of two persons.
Around 10:28 p.m., according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a crash happened in the southbound lanes close to mile marker 72.
According to troopers, a motorist lost control of a northbound Chevrolet Camaro, went over the barrier, and struck a Buick Enclave SUV and tractor-trailer head-on.

The tractor-trailer driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of their wounds, according to the highway patrol.
The other two vehicles’ drivers were declared dead. Mugahed Abduliah Algomai, 20, of Spartanburg, was the driver of the Camaro, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

The second driver’s identity is still unknown. Troops reported that debris from the collision also struck a Lexus.
