This sorrowful finding occurred around 8:00 a.m., with passing drivers noticing her remains and promptly notifying authorities. The late emergence of news reports regarding this case only began more than a week after the unfortunate incident.
Tioni’s Tragic Circumstances and Family’s Grief
Tioni Theus, a student of Centennial High School residing in Compton, was staying with her father, Darien Jackson, while her mother recuperated from a hit-and-run accident.
The investigation uncovered that Tioni had been shot in the neck. Her father expressed his incomprehension and profound sorrow over the loss, stating, “Part of me is gone … I hope they catch whoever did it.”
Amidst their grief, Tioni’s family, including her cousin Lakeshia Barret and aunt Jasmin Johnson, passionately demanded justice, emphasizing her youth and significance to their family.
