On Wednesday, police said they had arrested a man and a woman in connection with a pit bull attack in Staten Island that left three people, including a toddler, with bite wounds. Police said they arrested Shontay Holland, 29, and Rodney Jones, 48, shortly after the mauling in New Brighton, where eight to ten dogs escaped through a window around 1 p.m. Monday.
Police say they arrested the pair on multiple counts, including child endangerment, animal cruelty, and reckless driving. Police say that after the dogs escaped through a window, they attacked several people in the street.
According to the Police, said a 2-year-old girl was bitten on the body and a 13-year-old boy and 19-year-old woman were bitten on the legs. Law enforcement reported that their condition at Richmond University Medical Center, where they were taken, remained stable.
