On New Year’s Day, a series of shootings occurred in Prince George’s County, resulting in the loss of three lives in separate incidents near Rosecroft Raceway and Capitol Heights.

Night of Violence: Details of the Shootings
On New Year’s Eve around 10:30 p.m., gunshots were reported in the 1400 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive. Police discovered a man shot at the scene, later pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
On New Year’s Day, two shootings occurred within a small distance. Around 3:50 a.m., in the Fort Washington area at the 7500 block of Blanford Drive, two men were shot.
One man died after being privately taken to the hospital, while another victim remains in stable condition.
Another shooting was reported at 4:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of Brinkley Road in Temple Hills, claiming the life of a man found outside and pronounced dead at the hospital.
