Jay Leno reportedly sustained “severe burns,” although he said he was doing OK on Monday. Leno told The Associated Press, “I received nasty burns from a gasoline fire.” “I am OK. Just a week or two, and I’ll be OK.”
It was unclear when the fire had started or what had caused it. The ex-host of “The Tonight Show” has a garage full of classic cars in Burbank, California, just north of Los Angeles. A “severe medical issue” prevented Leno, 72, from making an appearance at a financial conference in Las Vegas on Sunday.
NBC reconsidered and invited Leno back as a host in 2010
In 1992, when Johnny Carson finally decided to retire from hosting NBC’s Tonight, the comic stepped in to fill the void. After Conan O’Brien took over the show from Leno in 2009, NBC reconsidered and invited Leno back as a host in 2010.
He held the position until 2014 when Jimmy Fallon took over. Based on his passion for automobiles, Jay Leno’s Garage airs on CNBC, and now Leno is hosting a new version of the classic game show ‘You Bet Your Life’.
