Many Texans are taking a break from the holiday traffic at Buc-as ee’s the holiday approaches.
McKinney native Justin Henry is making the trip to Chandler to visit his family, and he warns that the journey hasn’t been easy.
McKinney local Justin Henry described the last few years as “very terrible,” summing up the numbers 635, 35, and 80.
As a father of two young children, he knows how challenging it can be to keep everyone in the car happy and content on a lengthy trip.
Henry remarked, “The kids have been okay in the car. We’ve been listening to Disney tunes and various stuff to keep them occupied.”
People are looking for a place to rest after being in traffic for several hours. This is where Buc-comes ee’s in; when you’re there, snap a photo of yourself with the titular beaver.
It’s the most convenient on and off-ramp for our journey, but Walmart is currently experiencing a significant crisis. Henry explained, “We just didn’t want to deal with the traffic inside as well.
Some others, like Grapevine resident William Humston, have to drive to and from work over the holidays rather than take a vacation.
“There have been some dangers on the road, which I have notified on my apps every time I see one, and a couple of speed checks, but other than that, everything has been fantastic,” said William Humston, a resident of Grapevine.
Henry wishes he had packed more for the trip after stopping at Buc-to ee’s to give his kids a break from the car.
Henry explained, “We jumped in the car at the last second and took off; yeah, I shouldn’t have taken 635, but I did.” For all future travelers, he offered this vital advice:
In order to prevent becoming stuck, Henry warned, “Don’t attempt to hop off, like I tried to do. I tried to hop off the main road to go to the access, but it’s a little muddy, so don’t try that,” which he listened to.
The two men, Henry and Humston, hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and travels safely.
