Marty York, who is best remembered for playing Alan “Yeah-Yeah” McClennan in “The Sandlot,” revealed on social media that his mother had been slain in her Northern California home.
Deanna Esmaeel, the mother of York, was discovered dead inside her Crescent City home on Thursday, according to the first report.
According to the department, Esmaeel worked as a deputy for the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, and a warrant was obtained for Daniel James Walter, who the actor claimed was “seeing” York’s mother.
“This is the hardest post I’ll ever have to write but I found out from the Sheriff’s Department last night that my mother was murdered by a man she was seeing,” York said in an Instagram post. “The emotions I have are horrible right now…between rage, vengeance [and] crying.”
After Walter, who officially changed his identity to Edward Patrick Davies in July, was last observed in Crescent City on Thursday morning, a search was launched for him.
