According to the findings of the investigation, the impact of narcotics played a “direct role” in the collision that resulted in the death of George V. Giannakakis, who was 73 years old at the time of the incident.
On Wednesday, Muzard was taken into custody and given charges of reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence of drugs, which resulted in the death of another person.
According to the deputies, Muzard was operating a GMC Acadia in the direction of northbound traffic on Route 59 when, for reasons that are not known, the vehicle took a turn into the southbound lanes.

Shortly after arriving, it was determined that Giannakakis had passed away.
Muzard is still being held at the Lake County Jail in anticipation of his court appearance.
