An incident occurred at Tavares High School on Monday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of an 18-year-old student, Jamielynn Parsons.
The dispute, which occurred just minutes after school ended, resulted in allegations of battery and resisting arrest with violence.

Details of the Altercation
The fight was between Parsons and an unidentified 16-year-old girl. According to the arrest affidavit, a deputy attempted to interfere by standing between them to prevent any further physical contact.
Unfortunately, the situation worsened and the 16-year-old girl collapsed on the ground. Parsons proceeded to swing at her, hitting a cop in the eye throughout the altercation.

Legal Proceedings and Release
Following the event, the girls were separated and interviewed. These interviews confirmed Parsons started the altercation by approaching the 16-year-old and confessing to throwing the initial punch.
The victim’s parents stated that they intend to prosecute for the alleged battery. Parsons was then arrested and brought to the Lake County Jail. She has now been released on a $2,000 bond.
