Many Americans will be shocked to see how much money has been deposited into their accounts in a few days. People who don’t expect checks in the amounts of $600 and $1,200 are receiving them.
The Department of Agriculture will hand out these checks to a certain group. For example, a $700 million plan includes farmworkers and meatpackers, and some grocery store employees.
The goal is to assist staff who were crucial during the pandemic’s peak period with financial aid. However, the amount of money given to grocery store workers has yet to be determined.
This check has nothing to do with the IRS. Instead, the federal government, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations are in charge of it. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack is in charge of distributing the money.
“We recognize that our farmworkers, meatpackers, and grocery employees overcame unprecedented difficulties to make sure that Americans could eat and sustain their families during the epidemic,” Vilsack said.
