Shooting at University Park-One Man Died in the Incident

On Friday, a man was shot and killed in an apartment complex in University Park, a southern suburb of Chicago.

At about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, a gunshot occurred in the Maple Leaf Apartments, located at 759 Burr Oak Lane. The shooting resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man, whose identity has not been revealed, and the continued hospitalization of two other men in their 20s on Friday night.

University Park’s mayor, Joseph E. Roudez III, stated, “This is regrettable, but it is a targeted incident.” “There is no imminent danger to the building’s occupants or the surrounding community. The victims and their loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers.”
