After what he claims was a horrific assault on Sunday night in Lower Pac Heights, a guy from San Francisco is now healing.
Richard Titus has been a resident of San Francisco for many years, and he claims he has never had problems like these. His last distinct memory is of leaving a brunch on Sunday at 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. He claims to have picked up his Tesla after it had been charged.
Titus clearly recalls the assault. He claims that as he was ascending a steep street in San Francisco, he heard footsteps behind him. He claims he doesn’t frighten easily despite being 6’2″.
“I didn’t really even pay attention to the footsteps until something hit me in the back of the head hard enough to knock me flat on my hands and knees,” tells Titus.
He hurriedly stood up and turned to face the two men. They were described as having a deeper complexion, wearing hoodies, and one of them sporting a baseball cap. One was carrying a pipe, and the other appeared to be reaching for Titus’ 1968 Rolex Daytona wristwatch.
Titus laughed and continued, “So I punched him, as you do.” He thinks that his response caught his attackers off guard and shocked them enough to flee. He claimed that both assailants quickly left the area.
According to traumatic brain injuries, Titus’ recollection of the occasion has been “kind of split up” by his brain.
In San Francisco’s Lower Pac Heights district, Titus was living with a buddy. Around 9:30 or 10:30 p.m., he next recalls climbing the stairs to his friend’s apartment while bleeding from the head and carrying a head injury. He woke up the following morning with blood all over his pillowcase.
Titus sought treatment in the emergency room at California Pacific Medical Center and was pleased by the service he received. Before he departed, the staff insisted that he submit a police report, and his insurance also demanded one for the assault. He eventually waited until after 11 p.m., but no police arrived.
Titus started using social media at that point. A few police captains contacted him to help with the report not long after he uploaded pictures and the account of the assault online.
“I’ve lived in San Francisco off and on for all these years, and I’ve never been mugged before, I’ve definitely never been assaulted before by strangers. It felt a little scary given I’m in the city I love,” exclaimed Titus.
