Police Search for Burglar Hitting Little Village Businesses

SPRING BREAK IN CHICAGO (CBS) — On Monday, police issued a warning about a burglar who broke into two Little Village stores and stole money and cigarettes.

At 12:39 and 1 a.m. on Monday, burglars struck businesses in the 3600 and 3900 blocks of West Cermak Road.

In both cases, the cash and cigarettes were stolen by a single intruder who entered through the back door or a side window. The police reported an incident in which a safe was broken into using a saw.

The man was estimated to be around 200 pounds, with a height between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 3 inches. He was aged 25 to 35. His last known clothing included a tan and grey hooded sweatshirt, white pants, and orange and red bicycle gloves.
