Police on the Hunt for Suspected Motel Killer in Hall County

Gainesville police are now investigating a fatal shooting at the Motel 6 on Monroe Drive, which occurred on Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a complaint about 2:30 p.m. and found a subject with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Despite being brought to a neighbouring hospital, the individual died from their injuries.

Suspect Identified – Corey Maurice Rucker at the Center of Investigation

During the ongoing investigation, law enforcement identified Corey Maurice Rucker, a resident of Gainesville, as a suspect in connection with the victim’s tragic death.

Rucker is known to the victim, adding a layer of complexity to the case.

Serious Charges Laid Against Rucker

Corey Maurice Rucker is now facing serious charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, possession of a handgun while committing a crime, and theft by taking a motor vehicle.

Despite police efforts, Corey Maurice Rucker managed to leave the scene before they arrived. Authorities suspect he may be driving a burgundy Nissan Murano with a Mississippi licence plate.
