The discovery was made by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) after the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas alerted them to a murder investigation.
The sheriff’s office told the Nebraska State Patrol that a black Mazda suspected to be engaged in an investigation was moving across the state.
According to a press release released on Friday, NSP troopers were able to locate the Mazda within minutes of the tip.

After disregarding a traffic check, the motorist followed troopers on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour, according to the NSP.

“After roughly nine miles, the Mazda tried to slow down, but impacted the back of a tractor-trailer, off the lane, and struck a tree in the ditch,” the NSP stated. Troopers then discovered a dead woman’s corpse in the trunk.
On Friday, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said that the woman’s identification had not been verified. The young driver was recognised as a 17-year-old from Texas who had gone missing.
The HCSO earlier issued an alert for the adolescent and his 49-year-old mother, stating that they were last seen on Thursday.
According to both the NSP and HCSO, the 17-year-old had life-threatening injuries in the collision; however, the NSP said that the injuries were not life-threatening.
The inquiry is continuing, according to Sheriff Gonzalez.
