A distressing event occurred in Chatsworth, Los Angeles County, where police fatally shot a 63-year-old woman following an alarming situation involving a house break-in and fire.

Officers React to Urgent Call

Police from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) hurried to the 9600 block of Laramie Avenue just before 2 p.m. after receiving a call reporting a disturbance.

The suspect, later identified as Lisa Davis from Newbury Park, had allegedly broken into her sister’s home and set the residence ablaze.

Officers Encounter Armed Suspect

Upon arrival, body camera footage revealed a fiery scene. The officers managed to rescue the victim, who had escaped to a neighbor’s yard, and were informed that Davis was armed and in the backyard.

The situation escalated when officers encountered Davis behind the garage. In the midst of an active fire, Davis allegedly aimed a handgun at an officer, prompting the officers to open fire.

Davis was hit, apprehended, and subsequently transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
