Pilot Killed in Fiery Plane Crash at Prestonwood Park
Tuesday night’s collision in the parking lot of a Plano shopping mall claimed the life of the single-engine aircraft’s pilot.
Just before six o’clock in the evening, Mama’s Daughters’ Diner, which is situated in Prestonwood Park off West Park Boulevard, was the scene of a collision that resulted in the call for Plano Fire-Rescue personnel.
A client at a nearby nail salon reported that, just feet away from the establishment, they heard a huge boom and then realized what had happened.

“When I came out there was a lot of smoke and later I heard a noise again,” said Kiu Nguyen. “It was so scary. Everybody came and saw a lot of smoke.”
According to officials, the unoccupied parked car was affected by the fire even though the jet did not crash or land on anything.
As seen According to Kevin Holigan, the flames were so high that he was unable to see what was on fire. “All I could see is the original fire and the car next to it on fire.”

The crash happened north of Air Park-Dallas Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, although it’s unclear if that’s where it was going.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will be conducting the inquiry; at this time, no other information is available.
