Pierce County Driver, 5-Year-Old Passenger Involved in Pedestrian Fatality
Late in the evening, around 9:30 p.m., a 26-year-old woman from Tacoma was driving on State Route 7 toward 208th Street East in Pierce County. There was also a five-year-old girl from Spanaway in the car.
At the same time, a 47-year-old woman from Lakewood was walking along State Route 7, heading north toward 208th Street East.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the 26-year-old driver hit and sadly killed the 47-year-old pedestrian while driving in lane one.

The 47-year-old woman passed away at the scene of the accident.
After hitting the pedestrian, the 26-year-old driver left the road and entered a parking lot, where she allegedly hit a parked car.
Authorities took her to St. Joseph Hospital and charged her with vehicular homicide, DUI, and endangering a child.

The five-year-old girl who was in the car was taken to Mary Bridge Hospital for care.
The road remained closed for nearly six hours due to the incident.
