After Pfizer’s recent victory with official approval from the FDA, experts hope that this might just be the answer to quell vaccine hesitancy across the nation and hopefully convince the rest of the population to get vaccinated.
Doctors say that while this approval is a step in the right direction, the bigger push will come from official vaccination mandates. ‘
A lot of companies, institutions, and government agencies have already issued mandates for all their employees, tenants, and stakeholders to get vaccinated.
Dr. Anthony Fauci recently released a statement following the approval by saying “You’re gonna see a lot more [vaccine] mandates because there will be institutions and organizations which previously were reluctant to require vaccinations, which will now feel much more empowered to do that.”
Before the approval, around 25 million people in California had already got vaccinated, but that also means that more than 35% of the population remains unvaccinated.

The assurance given by the FDA approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, (now given the brand name Cominarty), will hopefully reassure people of the effectiveness of vaccines.
As of late, COVID-19 cases are still rising at an alarming rate—with Los Angeles recently surpassing 25,000 deaths related to COVID-19, and hospitals becoming more and more overwhelmed with sick people getting hospitalized due to COVID symptoms.
An even more aggressive pandemic response must be done to protect the most vulnerable especially the children, the elderly, those suffering from comorbidities, and those immunocompromised.
Due to some vaccine brands still unable to present authorization to administer the vaccines to children below 12— and some of these people in the vulnerable sector have special characteristics that may hinder them from getting vaccinated.
It is the responsibility then of the bigger population to get vaccinated to ensure everyone else’s safety.
