Painesville Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase: Lake County Sheriff’s Office Reports
Brandon Modic, a 40-year-old resident of Painesville Township, was apprehended by Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies following a high-speed chase that unfolded on SR-2 at around 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
Modic’s Reported Home Entry Incident
Deputies arrived after Modic’s estranged wife reported his unauthorized entry into her grandmother’s home, alleging theft and issuing threats of violence, stating he was armed.
Deputies observed Modic attempting to pull over his vehicle four hours later. In an attempt to avoid arrest, he refused to comply and raced west on SR-2, reaching speeds of more than 110 miles per hour.

Arrest and Evidence Found
Despite law enforcement efforts, including the deployment of stop-sticks by Mentor police, Modic continued his escape westward.
The pursuit ended when he lost control, veering off the road and attempting to flee on foot. Deputies apprehended him and discovered suspected narcotics and drug-related items inside his vehicle.
Modic faces multiple serious charges, including burglary, domestic violence, and aggravated menacing, and has been detained in Lake County Jail.
