Over 10 Million Americans Get Winter Weather Alerts After Thanksgiving Storm
Winter weather alerts have been issued for more than 10 million Americans as a cross-country storm continues to dump snow to some areas of the nation during the popular holiday travel weekend.
The National Weather Service said that eleven states, ranging from Texas to New York, were under winter alert on Saturday due to the post-Thanksgiving storm that is currently affecting the central United States.
The Northern to Central Rockies have already seen a lot of snowfall from this storm system, with over 25″ of snow falling in Wyoming.
However, the National Weather Service stated that future snowfall totals will be lower than what has already been recorded.

It is anticipated that accumulations would range from 2″ to 4″. Through Sunday, which is anticipated to be the busiest day of the year for air travel, the most snowfall is predicted to fall in Kansas, with up to 8″ likely.
The Chicago region is then anticipated to see snow on Sunday, with the heaviest amounts predicted to fall between 4 and 10 a.m. In Chicago, one to two inches of snow were visible.

Winds are predicted to pick up as the system moves out of the middle of the country, bringing wind chills below zero in several places, including Kansas.
The system is expected to combine with a coastal low later on Sunday, bringing brief bursts of intense rain to areas like Hartford, Connecticut, New York City, and Boston.
In the Northeast, less than an inch of rain is predicted, although portions of New England may receive up to two inches.
According to the National Weather Service, rain is also predicted for the Southern states along the Gulf Coast, which stretches from Texas to Florida. This could cause travel delays in the area. It could rain up to one inch.
