The supplemental benefits will be available to households receiving SNAP benefits in November 2021.
SNAP benefits are similar to those that were provided to households using the benefits in previous months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a release from the Mississippi Department of Human Services Monday morning.
In order to be eligible for the supplement, SNAP households have to meet the income requirements and have adequate resources. The total amount of benefit supplements delivered will also depend on the size of the household.
For instance, a household of two people approved to receive a benefit of $355. If a household of two persons is authorized to receive $200 for the month, they will receive an extra $155 for the month too.
“All households will receive additional pandemic emergency benefits up to the maximum monthly benefit, per household,” claimed MDHS Executive Director Bob Anderson.
“Additional benefits will enable Mississippi families to provide for their daily nutritional needs.”

Supplements will not be provided to households already receiving the maximum benefit amount for this month. As an example, a household of two persons authorized to receive a maximum of $355 in November will not receive the supplement.
On November 2, SNAP households currently certified for benefits will be able to obtain these supplements. The supplemental benefit will become available to households newly approved this month two (2) days after approval.
