After a crash in Nacogdoches on Monday night, one youngster is dead, and another has life-threatening injuries.

Officers were called to a two-vehicle accident in the 4600 block of E. Main St. at approximately 7:10 p.m., according to the Nacogdoches Police Department.

A Dodge 1500 was allegedly heading east on Main Street when it attempted to turn left onto Quail Ridge Rd. after slowing down.

The Ford F-250, towing a trailer that was carrying another car, struck the Dodge from behind. Both vehicles left the road as a result of the incident, according to the police.

“An adult male driver of the Ford was uninjured in the accident,” police said. “An adult female driver and a juvenile in the left rear passenger seat of the Dodge were treated and released at the hospital.”

“A 13-year-old juvenile in the front passenger seat of the Dodge was transported to a local hospital but sadly was pronounced deceased. A juvenile in the right rear seat of the Dodge was flown to a Tyler hospital with life threatening injuries.”
