Over the weekend, Columbia County witnessed a devastating incident resulting in the loss of one life.
Magnolia police and Columbia County deputies responded to a distressing report of a gunshot victim at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.

Victim Identified and Investigation Underway
The man, named as Patrick D. Jamerson of Magnolia, died from his injuries shortly after being taken to the hospital.
Investigators are working hard to piece together the circumstances that led up to the shooting, but the actual location is still unknown.

Arrest Made in Connection with the Shooting
Authorities got information on a suspected suspect and a related vehicle after a comprehensive investigation.
Police were able to find and question Joshua Carrington of McNeil after conducting a search.
Carrington was arrested and is currently being jailed at the Columbia County Detention Facility on a charge of second-degree murder.
By studying the victim’s body, the Arkansas State Crime Lab is assisting in the continuing investigation.
This terrible incident has left the community in mourning, while law enforcement continues to investigate the facts behind the tragedy.
