An accident involving two vehicles occurred on Thursday afternoon in Darke County. According to the sheriff’s office, one of the drivers involved in the collision was sent to a hospital, while the other driver was treated at the scene and discharged.
According to the preliminary investigation, Gary Lee Vandyke, 54, was driving a tan 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer in the direction of eastbound traffic on 571 when he lost control of the car while overtaking another vehicle traveling in the same direction.
Vandyke went off the right side of the road, crossed the center line, and then drove into the path of an approaching Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck from the year 2009.

Chase Moore, 38, was driving a pickup truck when it was thrown off the right side of the road as a result of the incident. After coming to a stop on their sides, the pickup truck and the little box trailer that it was pulling came to rest.
Vincent Vandyke was transported to Wayne Healthcare. According to the sheriff’s office, Moore received medical treatment and was then released. Both of them are inhabitants of Greenville.

On the report of an accident that resulted in injuries, deputies from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, Arcanum Rescue, and Gettysburg Fire and Rescue were sent to the scene at around 3:17 p.m. In addition, CareFlight, which had been sent to the location initially, was finally canceled.
