Motorcyclist Dead in Late-Morning Lake County Crash
According to the troopers, the incident took place around ten minutes before noon at the intersection of Sandpiper Drive and County Road 452 in Leesburg.
A Hyundai Sonata and a Kawasaki motorcycle were identified as the two cars that were involved in the accident by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Hyundai Sonata, which was being driven by a man from Apopka who was 91 years old, was traveling east on County Road 452 and was approaching Sandpiper Drive in the inside left turn lane.

At that moment, the Hyundai Sonata made a left turn in the path of the motorcycle, which was traveling west on the same road. The right side of the Sonata was struck by the front of the motorcycle, which caused a collision.
The driver and passenger of the Sonata, a woman who was 76 years old, did not end up being transferred to a nearby hospital and instead remained at the scene of the accident.

The male biker, who was 56 years old and from Umatilla, was taken to Waterman Hospital, where it was determined that they had passed away. If the man was wearing a helmet, it is not known at this time.
The collision is still being looked at by authorities.
