Horrifying footage captures the moment a moped-riding couple dragged a 12-year-old girl down a Queens street in order to steal her expensive jewellery. This is one of seven such incidents that have occurred in the city.
The incident reportedly occurred on Layton Street near Britton Avenue in Elmhurst at 4:30 p.m. on October 24 while the pre-teen was on her way home from school.
Seized the Girl’s $1,800 Chain
According to the police and the video published by the NYPD late Sunday night, the passenger in the rear of the car seized the girl’s $1,800 chain and dragged her down the pavement.

After doing something horrible, the two criminals have gotten into a car while still holding the stolen chain.
Police think that the same moped-riding criminals attacked four more people in a crime spree that took more than six hours and happened two days later.
At around 2:20 p.m., they allegedly attacked a 37-year-old lady on the corner of 34th Avenue and 103rd Street, striking her in the face and attempting to steal her jewelry.
Authorities said the suspects damaged the jewellery but were unable to make off with it.
The suspects then allegedly robbed a 43-year-old lady strolling at the intersection of 31st Avenue and 76th Street around 4:30 p.m., taking two necklaces before fleeing in a vehicle.
Stole Necklace from 52-Year-Old Man
Around 7 p.m. that same day, the same criminals went back out on the streets and stole a necklace from a 52-year-old man on 75th Street near Woodside Avenue.
They then allegedly approached a 35-year-old lady on 73rd Street near 35th Avenue at approximately 8:50 p.m. and stole her jewellery.

The following day, at about 3 p.m., the muggers struck again, this time driving up to a 70-year-old lady in a car and stealing her jewellery, as reported by the police.
After almost two weeks off, on November 7 at 12:45 p.m., the couple allegedly attacked a 48-year-old lady who was walking along Penrod Street and Otis Avenue.
