Mom Reveals Her 9-year-old Daughter Faced Bullying at School for Choosing Non-brand Tumbler
Dayna Motycka of Ohio took to TikTok to share a heartbreaking story of her 9-year-old daughter, who was bullied at school because she wore a non-name-brand tumbler.
The video quickly went viral, with Motycka explaining her daughter’s trauma.

Budget-friendly Option
Motycka explained that her daughter received a tumbler from Walmart, a more budget-friendly option at under $10, compared to the pricier Stanley tumblers that can go up to $50 or more.
The daughter initially found the Walmart tumbler “cute” and was content with the gift.
Bullying Over Non-Brand Tumbler
However, upon returning to school after winter break, Motycka’s daughter faced ridicule from peers who mocked her for not having an authentic Stanley tumbler.
Around 10 girls in her class reportedly received Stanleys as Christmas gifts, exacerbating the teasing and exclusion.
Mom Addresses the Root Cause
Motycka emphasized the importance of parents fostering empathy and discouraging material-based judgment.
Despite being able to afford a genuine Stanley tumbler, Motycka initially believed her 9-year-old didn’t need one.
She expressed disappointment in parents who instill values that lead their children to mock others based on brand possessions.
