Memphis Man Arrested in Tipton County with Drugs

Tipton County authorities have arrested Ravon S. Williams, a 47-year-old Memphis man, after he was found with a substantial quantity of drugs.

Arrested on Thursday, Williams is now facing several serious charges, including possession of Schedule I and II narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during a felony, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and driving with a revoked or suspended license.

He is detained in Tipton County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

Detailed Operation Leads to Arrests

Acting on a tip, the Covington/Tipton County Violent Crimes Unit, alongside the Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Narcotics Team, intercepted Williams and Chandra L. Ayers, 42, who was accompanying him.

They were suspected of transporting drugs from Memphis to the Mason area. The arrest led to the seizure of 38 grams of methamphetamine, 100 ecstasy pills, suspected fentanyl, and a Smith and Wesson 9mm gun from their vehicle.

Charges and Court Appearance

Ayers faces similar drug and firearm charges and is held on a $10,000 bond. The operation unveiled Williams’s violent criminal history, which includes charges of solicitation of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault.

Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley commended the successful and safe operation, highlighting the danger Williams posed. Both Williams and Ayers are scheduled for a court appearance on February 16, awaiting further legal proceedings.
