Verilife, a registered cannabis business based in Illinois, announced Wednesday that it had inked a historic sponsorship contract with the 2022 American Hockey League champion Chicago Wolves. Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, is the home of the Wolves, and as part of this historical arrangement, Verilife will have visibility there on game days.
The Rosemont, Illinois, location is Verilife’s licensed cannabis dispensary and is close to downtown Chicago and O’Hare International Airport, thanks to the sponsorship’s in-store promotional options.
Chicago Wolves works to end Homelessness in the city
Erika Salgado Guerra, chief marketing officer of Verilife’s parent firm PharmaCann, said in a statement, “The Chicago Wolves are a dynamic team in a city that loves hockey.” Our Verilife Rosemont office is conveniently located near the action, so we’re a great fit as a sponsor. Many of our clients are avid fans, and we can’t wait to share Verilife with the rest of the group. Each exciting game will be a blast for us to attend.”
The sponsorship deals include a prominent display of Verilife branding throughout the arena, including on the Jumbotron above the ice, in ribbon LED signage, and on the Wolves’ official website.
The business will participate in the Wolves Score for Charity initiative
Chris Friederich, a senior executive of corporate partnerships with the Chicago Wolves, said, “The Chicago Wolves and Verilife are both dedicated to helping the communities in which we live and work, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help people experiencing homelessness through this sponsorship.” As one participant said, “I can’t wait to see how much money we can earn for Facing Forward as a group.”
A new benchmark
With their new sponsorship arrangement with Verilife, the Wolves have set a new benchmark in the evolving relationship between sports and cannabis. “Our partnership with the Chicago Wolves is a major step toward where the industry is heading,” Erika Salgado Guerra says in an email.
This is an excellent chance for us to expand our reach as a company, make new connections, and give back to the neighborhood where we have our headquarters.
Charlotte’s Web, based in Colorado, revealed last month that it had signed a deal to become Major League Baseball’s official CBD, making MLB the first major professional sports league to establish a sponsorship arrangement with a CBD company.
According to MLB chief revenue officer Noah Garden, “Charlotte’s Web is a welcome addition to the MLB family, reflecting a milestone collaboration in baseball and sports” because of the company’s “leadership in the CBD sector, with products that provide health and wellness advantages.”
