Manhattan Chelsea: 1 Person Killed And 3 Others Injured In Two Separate Shootings

Manhattan’s Chelsea (WABC) A shooting occurred outside the well-known upscale event space Lavan 541, only a few feet from the corner of 10th Avenue and West 25th Street, where police are stationed.

After two shootings within blocks of one another, Chelsea experienced a bloody 24 hours. A Queens man was killed in one of them, a triple shooting.

Mark Barez remarked, “It was a little frightening.”

On Saturday night, while working inside the event space, Mark Barez, a waiter, heard the gunshots.

Barez continued, “We saw a lot of police and ambulances, so we don’t know what happened, but we know that something bad happened.

Another shooting occurred just a few blocks away on West 23rd Street five hours later. A man was shot in the chest this time. He is anticipated to live.

Residents are shocked by the violence.

Katie Murphy said, “It’s scary. You’re afraid to go out.”

Detectives updated information on the victims outside the location as police continued their investigation.

Rasithamar Grant was murdered in Rosedale, Queens.

A 32-year-old assistant deputy warren for the corrections department, according to police, was shot in the left. Another man, 37, was shot as well.

There have been no detentions.
