A man was killed when his automobile crashed as he swerved to avoid a police traffic stop.
The male, 22, was stopped by police around 8:00 p.m. on the 1400 block of South Michigan Avenue after he swerved out of his lane and impacted two other vehicles while fleeing from oncoming police officers.
Doctors pronounced the individual dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was taken.
The 18-year-old female passenger was also taken to the same hospital, but her condition was listed as “fair.” A 21-year-old female passenger was also injured and taken to Stroger Hospital.
Another driver, an 18-year-old man, was taken to the hospital, where his condition was listed as fair.
A 32-year-old man, his 14-year-old daughter, and a 14-year-old boy were all rushed to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were all deemed to be fair.
The police are still looking into the situation, so we have no more details to share at this time.
