Man Escapes Custody at Lake County Hospital, Recaptured by K9 Officer
Jaime C. Romero escaped from custody while undergoing medical treatment at a Lake County hospital. The incident occurred as a result of domestic assault allegations filed against him.

Deputies Respond to Hospital Escape Attempt
Lake County deputies rushed to the hospital in Barrington when Romero, arrested for a serious assault on his girlfriend, tried to escape while getting treatment. He also had an active arrest warrant from Kane County.
Man Escapes Hospital, Caught by Police Dog
Jaime C. Romero tried to run away from the hospital, but officers and a police dog named Dax found him at a nearby doctor’s office.
Even after they warned him, Romero wouldn’t listen, and the police dog stopped him by biting his leg.

Charges Added for Romero After Police Dog Incident
When Romero fought back against the K9 officer, he got more charges like hurting a police animal, resisting arrest, and more. He had a court hearing and will have another one on Jan. 2.
