The identity of the suspect in the woman’s death by gunshot on Thursday night in Princeton has been made public by the police. They confirm that Cory Callen, 33, of Bluefield, was arrested in Fayette County and charged on Friday in Mercer County.
According to the police report, he is accused of first-degree murder for allegedly attacking and killing a woman shortly after 8 p.m. near the Lilly Grove neighborhood along Gardener Loop.
Leona Edwards, the victim, was recognized by the police as having been shot several times when getting out of her car.
Callen appeared in the Mercer County Magistrate Court by video arraignment. He is being held without bond at the Central Regional Jail in Braxton County at this time. The inquiry is still on.
