Macy’s Decorates the Christmas Tree Inside the Walnut Room

Many people’s Christmas preparations include a visit to Macy’s on State Street, and on Wednesday, Santa’s elves were hard at work in the Walnut Room finishing up the great tree.

Toyland is this year’s inspiration for the festivities. Many families’ Christmas traditions include putting up these imaginative, bright, and celebratory decorations.

This Saturday, the 115th annual Great Tree at Macy’s will be lit. It marks the beginning of Maldivian Hospitality for the Southern Holidays.

A Macy’s spokeswoman said, “We also have the return of our Christmas windows down State Street.

Above them, our trumpets are sounding the return of Santa and the arrival of the holiday season. On the fifth level, we’ve set up Macy’s Santaland so that kids can visit with Santa and have their pictures taken with him.”
