On Tuesday night, a car accident on Highway 175 in Kaufman County resulted in the awful discovery.
A Terrible Conclusion to a Five-day Search
Logan Jacinto, a 40-year-old man who went missing after crashing his automobile on Tuesday night, was discovered dead in a creek near the accident scene on Sunday by his relatives.
According to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, an autopsy will be performed to identify the cause of death.
“It was the call we didn’t want to get, you know, to hear that your brother is dead,” said Logan Jacinto’s sister, Sydonia Jacinto.
Logan Jacinto was on his way home from work on Highway 175 in Kaufman County when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a guardrail. He texted his wife, saying it was raining but that he would arrive home safely. He never followed through.
His wife reported him missing shortly before 7 p.m. on Jan. 3. Deputies went to the crash site a few hours later but discovered no one in the wooded area.

A Never-Ending Search by Relatives and Friends
Logan Jacinto’s family has been organizing volunteer search parties for the past five days to check for any sign of him in the fields and forests around the highway.
They were joined by members of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Kaufman County Constable’s Office, and the Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office.
“We weren’t gonna give up on him,” said Sydonia Jacinto. “We said we were going to be all day all night. That’s exactly what we did.” Their efforts were cut short when they discovered his body in a creek less than a mile from the crash scene. His brothers discovered the terrible finding.
“My brother, the one who jumped in, he’s not processing it,” said Sydonia Jacinto. “It hasn’t hit him completely and he was like, ‘I jumped in there sis, I pulled him out of the water. I gave him a kiss and told him I love you.’”

A Legacy of Joy and Love
The family may now begin to grieve and remember their brother, father, husband, and son, who enjoyed dancing and making them laugh.
“He was a funny man,” remarked Sydonia Jacinto. “Me and my brother were reminiscing just the things that he would say out of the blue … we’re just gonna cherish the memories. He might be gone but he’s never forgotten.”
Logan Jacinto’s family is arranging a funeral ceremony and is asking for prayers and support from the community. They also thanked the volunteers and officials who assisted them with their quest.
“I appreciate the police coming out and helping but it wasn’t enough,” Sydonia Jacinto said. “We were going to keep on going until we found him. Like I said, not the way we wanted to find him but we have that closure now.”
